How to Put Text Behind an Image

When you drop or select a photo (JPG, PNG, or WebP), Text Behind Image initiates a background segmentation worker in your browser. Unlike traditional editing tools that send your photos to remote servers, our AI model runs locally on your device via WebAssembly and WebGPU.

Privacy Assurance: Because processing happens entirely client-side, your personal pictures and sensitive files never leave your computer or phone.

Once the foreground subject is segmented, a vector text layer is positioned in the 3D stack directly between the original background photo and the cutout subject. You can choose from over 12 curated typefaces tailored for graphic design:

• Modern Sans-Serif: Inter, Montserrat, Poppins
• Editorial Serif: Playfair Display
• Stylized Script: Dancing Script, Pacifico, Lobster

To ensure maximum readability across intricate photo backgrounds, the editor offers specialized graphic adjustments:

• Auto-Contrast: Automatically evaluates background luminance at text coordinates to select optimal text colors.
• Neon Glow: Adds intense glow lighting with customizable blur radius and color spread for nighttime or cyberpunk aesthetics.
• Outline Stroke: Creates sharp boundary strokes so words remain distinct even against high-frequency photo patterns.
• Subject Drop Shadow: Adds realistic shadows cast by the foreground subject onto the text behind it.

When you are satisfied with your layout, click Export in the top bar. You can choose from PNG (lossless with full color depth), JPEG (optimized web size), or WebP (modern high-compression format). The canvas compiles all layers at full camera resolution without watermarks.
